Buffalo II is a wrap. Until next time – and thanks!

Now that all the Flingers (72 attendees from 28 states and Canada) have shuffled off from our fair city, we want to again thank everybody who helped make it a success, including, of course, you, the people who put your faith in Buffalo to provide great gardens and good company.

Social media posts from you all – and thanks for all the hashtags!—have indicated that you found inspiration, humor, creativity, skill, ambition and fun in the gardens you toured. It seems like people had a good time.

In addition to co-organizers Jim Charlier, Elizabeth Licata and Shirley Verrico, we must thank Gardens Buffalo Niagara Executive Director Audrey Clark for her contributions as a bus captain—and tracking finances and getting vendors paid!

We are also grateful for the Fling volunteers:

  • Brian Olinski

  • Verona Moody

  • Phylis Lobbins

  • Catherine Carr Lincoln

  • Beth Kreutzer

  • Cheryl Jackson

  • Ellen Goldstein

  • Idelle Fisher

  • Sally Cunningham (bus captain)

  • Karen Coupal

  • Lauren Carlson

  • Barbara Cavanagh

  • Cheryl Bell

  • Gordon Ballard

We ended up with 72 door prizes—so everyone walked away a winner.

Thanks to door prize donors Jim Charlier, CobraHead, Gardens Buffalo Niagara, Hoselink, Kathy Jentz, Elizabeth Licata, Maxsea Plant Soluble Seaweed Plant Food, Monrovia, Murrays’ Hosta Farm, My Patio Tree, Put A Plant On It, Root 716, Teri Speight, Amy Stewart, Timber Press, Tula Hats, and Visit Buffalo. And also to the Taste of Buffalo organizers for sharing Taste tickets with us.

What you did and where you were.

If you need it for reference and for archival purposes, you can find the Buffalo Fling Program here. The Program features the 32 Fling garden hosts, along with the organizations that hosted us, including Murray’s Hosta Farm, Draves Arboretum, Silo City, the Erie Basin Marina Trial Garden, as well as Duende, Sully’s Harbor Bar, and the Twentieth Century Club of Buffalo.

Please continue posting about your experiences.

We'd love to read your blogs and watch your videos about it. So would the garden owners, sponsors, and the gardening public. Below, after the photos, are just some of the posts and collections we've seen. To help us find your posts as you publish over the weeks and months ahead, please share your links on our official Facebook page with hashtag #gardenfling2026, and/or share your URL in the comments below.

On to Portland!
